The heating / ventilation system includes: a filter that captures and pollen, a three-speed fan (located in the engine compartment), a network of ventilation ducts at face level in the central part and on the sides, from the front and back of the footwells.
The air distributor housing plays the role of a central device that directs air to various channels and vents.
Cold air enters the passenger compartment through the grille located at the front of the car and passes through the filter. If necessary, the air flow is accelerated by the fan and then flows through the ducts and flaps, according to the setting of the control knobs. Stagnant air is drawn out through channels located at the rear bumper. If required, air passes through the core of the heater, which is in turn heated by the hot fluid coming from the engine.
The recirculation switch allows you to cut off the outside air supply, and it moves in a closed circuit inside the car when the penetration of unpleasant odors is not desired. However, this should only be used for a short time, as the recirculating air deteriorates.
Some car models are equipped with electrically heated front seats. The temperature is controlled automatically by a thermostat.
