Routine maintenance (Opel Omega A)

1. Perform the following procedures at the intervals given in Section "Maintenance" at the beginning of this Guide.

2. Replace the air filter element as described in Chapter 4.

3. Check and adjust the idle speed and mixture as described in Chapters 14 or 23.

4. Replace the fuel filter on engines with a fuel injection system as described in Chapter 7. On carburetor models, the fuel mesh filter is included in the carburetor fuel inlet (see Chapter 16, paragraph 4), it must be cleaned regularly to prevent possible clogging, which can lead to insufficient fuel supply.

5. Raise the vehicle and support it on axle stands.

6. Check the condition of all fuel lines. Also check for leaks.

7. Lower the vehicle to the ground.

8. Lubricate the accelerator control cables and the throttle mechanism with 1-2 drops of engine oil. Check that the accelerator cable is adjusted correctly.
