The following operations are performed at the frequency specified in the section "Routine maintenance" at the beginning of this Guide.
1. Check all fuel pipes and hoses for secure fastening and damage.
2. Check the operation of the gas pedal and the adjustment of the throttle cable.
3. Replace the air filter (see section 3).
4. On carburetor engines, clean the pump filter (see section 5). Also clean the mesh filter located behind the fuel inlet pipe fitting (see section 13 or 18).
5. On injection models, replace the filter (see section 25).
6. Check idle speed and mixture composition (see section 10, 15 or 22 — depending on the model).
7. Inspect the exhaust system for secure fastenings, damage and loss of tightness. Repair damage if necessary.
