If it is necessary to turn on the fuel pump when the engine is not running to check the injection system, you should remove the relay and connect contact 30 with a piece of wire (red wire) with contact 87V (red-blue wire) (see electrical diagrams)For 1.6L engines, it is necessary to connect contacts 30 and 87.
Caution: To test the fuel pump relay, the battery must be fully charged.
Check fuse N11.
Remove the relay.
Connect a voltmeter to contacts 30 ("+") and 85 ("-") (on the relay panel). It should show 12V.
Connect the voltmeter to contact 30 and ground. If the device shows 12 V, check the brown and red wires for integrity, replace them if necessary.
Turn on the ignition. Connect the voltmeter to contact 86 ("+") and "ground". If there is no voltage, check the black wire for integrity, replace if necessary.
Check if there is an ignition signal. To do this, turn off the ignition and disconnect the connector from the computer. Connect a voltmeter to contacts 1 and 5. Turn on the ignition. The device should show voltage. Turn on the starter. The LED should light up. If this does not happen, check the electrical wires and the ignition coil. If they are OK, check the ignition system and fuel injection system.
Connect contacts 30 and 87B (87) with a short wire. If the fuel pump turns on, replace the relay. Check the integrity of the red-blue wire going to the fuel pump, replace the wire if necessary.
If the pump is faulty, replace it.
