Contents: Examination ⬇ Adjustment ⬇ Replacement ⬇
The throttle position sensor is located in its housing. In the extreme positions of the valve ("full load" and "idle"), the corresponding contacts are closed in the sensor, which is registered by the computer.

Examination

Examination

Disconnect the connector from the sensor.

Connect an ohmmeter to contact 2 and ground. The device should show approximately 0 Ohm.

Turn the throttle valve to the middle position. The switch should click and the resistance should increase to "infinity".

Connect an ohmmeter to pin 3 and ground. Turn the throttle valve to the extreme position. The resistance should be 0 ohms.

Adjustment

Loosen the sensor mounting screws (see arrows in Fig. B6596), without turning them completely.

Loosen the sensor mounting screws (see arrows in Fig. B6596), without turning them completely.

Slowly turn the sensor counterclockwise until it stops. Secure the sensor in this position (see fig.).

When opening the throttle valve, a click should be heard and the electrical resistance should increase from 0 to "infinity".

When the throttle is released, the resistance should drop back to 0 with an audible click of the switch.

Replacement

Disconnect the connector from the sensor.

Loosen the screws and remove the sensor from the throttle shaft.

Install the new sensor, adjust and secure it.

Connect the connector.
