1. Disconnect the wires from the throttle switch (photo).
2. Connect an ohmmeter to the center clamp (18) on the switch and in turn to each of the external terminals (2 and 3) (photo). The resistance between terminals 2 and 18 should be zero, and between terminals 3 and 18 infinity.
3. To adjust the switch on the L3 Jetronic system, loosen the two screws, turn the switch clockwise, then turn it slowly counterclockwise until you hear the microswitch click. Tighten the screws with the switch in this position.
4. To adjust the switch on the Motronic system, loosen the two screws, turn the switch clockwise, then slowly counterclockwise until resistance is felt. Tighten the screws with the switch in this position. Slowly open the throttle and check that the switch clicks when opening begins.
