Speed control system — general description (Opel Omega A)

The speed control system is only installed on some models. It consists of an electrically controlled motor (photo) that controls the throttle by means of a cable. By pressing the switch at the end of the left steering column seat belt lock at a speed of more than 40 km / h, the system automatically maintains the speed by opening or closing the throttle as required. The system shuts down if the speed drops below 40 km / h, or when the clutch or brake pedal is pressed, but the pre-selected speed is still stored in the system memory until the engine is turned off.
