The speed control system is installed only on some models. It consists of an electrically controlled motor (photo), which controls the throttle by means of a cable. By depressing the switch at the left end of the steering column seat belt buckle at speeds over 40 km/h, the system automatically maintains speed by opening or closing the throttle as required. The system is deactivated if the speed falls below 40 km/h or when the clutch or brake pedal is depressed, however the preselected speed is still stored in the system's memory until the engine is turned off.
