Intake manifold — removal and installation (Opel Omega A)

1. The manifold can be removed with or without the fuel injection system or carburetor components. Remove the air filter first (carburetor models), or disconnect the air intake duct from the throttle body (fuel injection models).

2. Drain the cooling system (Section 2).

3. Disconnect all hoses: crankcase ventilation, coolant, fuel and air (photo).



4. Disconnect all electrical wires.

5. Disconnect the accelerator control cable as described previously.

6. Gradually loosen the nuts, then remove the intake manifold from the struts on the cylinder head. Remove the gasket (photo).





7. Clean the mating surfaces of the intake manifold and cylinder head.



8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, use a new gasket and tighten the mounting nuts to the specified tightening torque Specification (photo).
