Removal and installation the lambda probe (Opel Vectra A)

            0

Contents: Removal ⬇ Installation ⬇
The lambda probe is installed in the exhaust pipe. It transmits voltage signals to the computer, the value of which depends on the oxygen content in the exhaust gases. The voltage value fluctuates around 450 mV. If the voltage drops below a certain value, fault code 44 is issued, and if it rises above a certain value, fault code 45 is issued. Accurate testing of the lambda probe is only possible in a specialized workshop.

Removal

Start and warm up the engine to an oil temperature of 60°C.

Turn off the ignition.

Turn off the ignition.

Disconnect the connector from the lambda probe.

Remove the lambda probe from the inlet pipe (see fig.D0317).

Attention! The lambda probe can only be removed when the engine is warm. Do not touch hot parts of the exhaust system!

Installation

Attention! Before installing a new lambda probe, lubricate its threads with graphite grease (for example, Opel ET N1948602) to prevent burning.

Install the lambda probe and tighten to 30 Nm.

Connect the connector to the lambda probe.
