Vehicles with a V6 engine have one lambda probe in both exhaust pipes.
Cars with a 2.2 liter engine are equipped with two lambda probes, one of which is installed in front of the engine start catalyst, and the second behind the main catalyst.
Removing
1. Jack up the vehicle and place it on jack stands.
2. Remove motor protection, if equipped.
3. Disconnect the plug 1 of the lambda probe 2 located on the gearbox (see illustration).
4. Unscrew a lambda probe from a reception pipe.
Installation
5. Lubricate the sensor thread with high temperature grease, such as Bosch or OPEL 19 48 602, screw it in and tighten it with 30 Nm.
Attention! If the lambda probe is screwed in without applying high-temperature grease, then over time it will «grows» and it is almost impossible to unscrew it. New lambda probes are supplied with grease.
6. Connect the plug of the lambda probe and install the engine protection.
