Removal



Turn the engine crankshaft to the TDC position of the end of the compression stroke of the piston of the 1st cylinder. In this case, the mark on the crankshaft pulley should be opposite the mark on the camshaft drive cover.

Remove the ignition distributor cap. The distributor rotor must be directed towards the distributor housing groove.

Disconnect the high-voltage wire from the ignition coil and the vacuum regulator hose from the distributor.

Remove the ignition distributor retaining plate and take the distributor out of the socket.

To facilitate installation of the ignition distributor, do not change the position of the drive gear in the cylinder block.

Installation



Install the distributor shaft so that the rotor is offset by 20 towards the vacuum ignition advance regulator.

Insert the distributor into place, positioning it so that the rotor is directed towards the groove on the distributor body (see photo).

Install the lock plate and tighten the mounting bolt without applying significant force.



Connect the high-voltage wire from the ignition coil and the vacuum hose to the ignition distributor.

Install the distributor cap.

Check and, if necessary, adjust the ignition timing as described below.
