Gap adjustment with feeler gauges
Remove the ignition distributor cap.
Engage IV gear and, moving the car, turn the crankshaft so that the contact plate of the breaker lever comes into contact with the top of the cam of the ignition distributor roller.
Slightly loosen the screw securing the contact group 1 (see photo) breaker and insert the blade I of the screwdriver between the two protrusions of the breaker plate into the groove of the fixed contact.
By turning the screwdriver in one direction or another, adjust the gap between the breaker contacts.
Tighten the screw securing the contact plate.
Turn the crankshaft several times and check the gap between the breaker contacts; repeat the adjustment if the gap does not correspond to this.
Install the ignition distributor cap.
Gap adjustment with chopper cam angle gauge
Connect the meter according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Start the engine, check the angle of the breaker cam angle with the instrument, which should be within 50±3°.
If necessary, adjust the angle of the breaker cam by moving the fixed plate of the contact group, taking into account the fact that the cam angle decreases with an increase in the gap between the contacts and vice versa.
