Disconnect the fuel line from the intake manifold and place it in a container with a capacity of approximately 5 liters.
Remove the fuel pump relay. The relay is located in the relay box on the left rear of the engine compartment.
Motronic injection system:connect contact 30 on the relay panel and contact 87V with a short wire and start the pump for one minute.
Multec injection system: connect contacts 30 and 87 in the same way.
The pump capacity should be 0.8-1.2 l/min. For a 115 hp engine produced since September 1989, the capacity should be 2 l/min.
If the performance is too low, replace the fuel filter and repeat the test. If the performance remains low, replace the pump.
