Cars with Motronic injection system
The fuel filter is located on the bottom of the car near the fuel tank.
Removal
Raise the vehicle and place it on supports.
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
Note: Use a rag to collect leaking fuel.
Warning! Gasoline vapors are toxic! Ensure good ventilation of the workplace.
Warning! Do not allow open flames or sparks near the work area. There is a risk of fire!

To prevent fuel leakage, clamp the hoses. Collect any leaking fuel.
Loosen the clamp fastening screws, disconnect the hoses and close them with suitable plugs.
Warning! There may be pressure in the system. When disconnecting the hose, cover it with a thick cloth.
Loosen the screws and remove the fuel filter.
Installation
Install the new filter so that the arrow on its body points in the direction of the fuel flow. The filter body has the markings "Ein" ("Inlet") and "Aus" ("Outlet").
Secure the filter with a clamp.
Connect the hoses and secure them with clamps.
Connect the ground wire to the battery.
Lower the car.
Cars with Multec injection system

Removal
Attention! Removing the filter in cars with the Multec injection system is similar to removing it in cars with the Motronic system. The same precautions must be taken.

Remove the hose holder.
Clamp the hoses.
Loosen the clamp fastening screws and disconnect the hoses.
Loosen the filter mounting bracket with a screwdriver and remove the filter.
Installation
Install the new filter so that the arrow on its body points in the direction of the fuel flow.
Secure the filter in the holder.
Connect the hoses and secure them with clamps. Remove the clamps.
Connect the ground wire to the battery.
