Vehicles with Motronic injection system
The fuel filter is located on the bottom of the car near the fuel tank.
Removing
Raise the vehicle and place it on stands.
Disconnect wire "masses" from the battery.
Note. Use a rag to collect escaping fuel.
Attention! Gasoline vapors are poisonous! Ensure good ventilation of the workplace.
Attention! Keep open flames or sparks away from the work area. There is a risk of fire!
Clamp the hoses to prevent fuel leakage. Collect escaping fuel.
Loosen the screws securing the clamps, disconnect the hoses and close them with suitable plugs.
Attention! There may be pressure in the system. When disconnecting the hose, cover it with a thick cloth.
Loosen the screws and remove the fuel filter.
Installation
Install the new filter so that the arrow on its housing points in the direction of the fuel. The filter housing is labeled "Ein" ("Entrance") And "Aus" ("Exit").
Fasten the filter with a clamp.
Connect hoses and secure with clamps.
Connect wire "masses" to the battery.
Lower the car.
Vehicles with Multec injection system
Removing
Attention! The removal of the filter in vehicles with the Multec injection system is carried out in the same way as in vehicles with the Motronic system. In doing so, the same precautions must be observed.
Remove the hose holder.
Clamp the hoses with clamps.
Loosen the screws securing the clamps, disconnect the hoses.
Loosen the filter holder with a screwdriver and remove the filter.
Installation
Install a new filter so that the arrow on its housing points in the direction of the fuel.
Attach the filter to the holder.
Connect hoses and secure with clamps. Remove clamps.
Connect wire "masses" to the battery.
