Exhaust manifold (left side) (Opel Frontera B)

Removal

Remove the starter heat shield.

Remove the starter (see the relevant chapter).

Remove 3 nuts and disconnect the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.

Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector from the wiring harness (arrows).



Remove 2 nuts, 2 bolts and disconnect the front exhaust pipe flange from the exhaust system.

Remove 2 bolts and heat shield.

Remove 6 nuts and remove the exhaust manifold from the cylinder head.

Remove the exhaust manifold gasket from the cylinder head.

Installation

Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and exhaust manifold.

Install the exhaust manifold with a new gasket and secure with new nuts, tightening them to a torque of 52 N·m.

Install the heat shield and secure it with 2 bolts.

Connect the front exhaust pipe with a new gasket to the exhaust manifold and secure with nuts, tightening them to a torque of 43 N·m.

Install the starter (see the relevant chapter).

Install the starter heat shield.

Connect the oxygen sensor connector to the wiring harness.
