Engine starter 6VD1-W: 1 - bolts; 2 - bearing; 3 - freewheel clutch; 4 - return lever; 5 - rubber cushion; 6 - return spring; 7 - protective plate; 8 - traction relay; 9 - nut; 10 - front cover; 11 - bearing mounting plate; 12 - retaining ring; 13 - thrust washer: 14 - central plate; 15 - coupling shaft; 16 - planetary gear satellites; 17 - freewheel clutch; 18 - central lock; 19 - stator; 20 - rotor; 21 - brushes; 22 - brush holder; 23 - thrust washer; 24 - back cover; 25 - bolts; 26 - tie bolt


Removal



Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Remove the lower engine compartment protection.

Disconnect the left front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.

Remove the starter heat shield (1).

Remove the starter heat shield (1).


Disconnect the wires from the S and B (3) terminals of the starter.



Remove 2 bolts (2) and remove the starter.

Installation



Install the starter and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 38 N·m.

Connect the wires to the S and B terminals of the starter and secure with nuts, tightening them to a torque of 9 N·m.

Install the starter heat shield.

Connect the left front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold.

Install the lower engine compartment protection.

Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
