Removal
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
Remove the lower engine compartment protection.
Remove the starter heat shield.
Disconnect the exhaust manifold stand (1) from the cylinder block, then disconnect the stand from the exhaust manifold and move it to the side.
Disconnect the wires (5) from the starter (2).
Remove the lower bolt (3) securing the starter.
Unscrew the upper bolt (4) securing the starter and remove the starter.
Installation
From the top of the engine compartment, install the starter and secure it with the top bolt, without tightening it completely. Install the lower starter mounting bolt and tighten it to 38 Nm.
Connect the wires to the starter.
Install the exhaust manifold strut onto the cylinder block, then attach it to the exhaust manifold and tighten the strut mounting bolts to 25 N·m.
Install the starter heat shield.
Install the lower engine compartment protection.
Tighten the upper starter mounting bolt to 38 N·m.
Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
