Removal and installation the battery (Opel Frontera B)

Warnings:
  • The battery terminals and the cable ends that connect to the battery terminals contain lead, so wash your hands thoroughly after disconnecting or connecting the cables to the battery terminals.
  • When fast charging, disconnect the vehicle's electrical system wires from the battery terminals.


Note: If your vehicle has a radio with a theft protection code, make sure you have the code before disconnecting the battery cables.


Removal



Make sure all electrical consumers are turned off.

Disconnect the cable (1) from the negative terminal of the battery.

Disconnect the cable (1) from the negative terminal of the battery.


Loosen the clamp bolt (4) and disconnect the cable from the positive terminal of the battery.

Unscrew the bolt (5) and nut (3) and remove the battery mounting clamp (2).

Remove the battery from the battery support.

Installation



Install the battery on the battery support.

Install the clamp and tighten the battery clamp mounting bolt and nut, making sure that the tensioner hook is correctly positioned on the battery support. Tighten the battery mounting bolt and nut to 3 N·m.

Connect the cable to the positive battery terminal and tighten the clamp bolt to 6 N·m.



Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.

Lubricate the battery terminals with petroleum jelly.
