Checking the electrolyte level
Check the electrolyte level at least once a month, especially in summer. The electrolyte level must be between the marks «MIN» And «MAX», marked on the battery case If necessary, top up with distilled water only.
The electrolyte level must not exceed the mark «MAX», otherwise, electrolyte may slosh out.
If the battery leads and wire clamps are sulphated, clean them. then lubricate with petroleum jelly. In winter, the battery must be fully charged. Check the charge level more often and recharge if necessary. During a long break in the operation of the car, regularly recharge the battery.
Checking the battery charge
The battery charge warning lamp lights up on the instrument panel when the ignition is switched on and should go out when the engine speed is slightly higher than idling. If the control lamp lights up while the vehicle is moving, this indicates that there is no charge current in the battery. In this case, you should check the tension of the alternator drive belt and make sure 8 that the wires are connected to it securely. If necessary, check the continuity of the battery charging circuit.
