Checking the brake fluid level



Regularly check the brake fluid level in the reservoir located on the left in the engine compartment. If the level is below normal, check the tightness of the brake system. The brake fluid level should be at the "MAX" mark, not exceeding it, and in no case should it fall below the "MIN" mark.

If it is necessary to top up the fluid, use the brake fluids recommended by the manufacturer.

Some vehicle models have a red warning light on the instrument panel that comes on when the brake fluid level is low.

Bleeding the brake system



If the free travel of the brake pedal has increased and it is necessary to press the brake pedal several times to achieve effective braking, then the brake system should be bled.

Warning: Brake fluid must be replaced every year of operation, regardless of mileage.


Servicing the front wheel brakes



Every year of operation or every 15,000 km of run check the thickness of the friction linings. Never swap the pads. Immediately replace the pads if they become oily. Replace all four brake pads only in a set.

Note: After replacing the pads, avoid sudden braking during the first 200 kilometers.


Servicing the rear wheel brakes



When replacing the rear brake pads, clean the rear brake drums from dust and check the thickness of the friction linings.



On vehicles up to and including the 1983 model year, adjust the clearance between the friction linings and the drum every two years of operation or every 30,000 km. On vehicles manufactured since 1984, the clearance between the pads and the drum is adjusted automatically. Adjustment of the parking brake is performed simultaneously with the clearance between the pads and the rear brake drum only on vehicles without automatic clearance adjustment.

Vacuum brake booster



The amplifier does not require any special maintenance.

The vacuum booster only works when the engine is running 06 This should not be forgotten when driving with the engine off, for example when towing. In this case, you should press the brake pedal with more force.
