Precautions when handling the generator
- Never short-circuit the excitation coil terminal of the voltage regulator power supply circuit or its connecting wire to ground.
- Do not under any circumstances rearrange the wires connected to the voltage regulator.
- Do not disconnect the voltage regulator or battery while the generator is running
- It is prohibited to remove the generator without first disconnecting the wires from the battery terminals
- During generator operation, it is prohibited to disconnect the voltage regulator from the generator ground, as this will lead to immediate failure of the regulator.
- It is prohibited to test the generator and voltage regulator on a vehicle or on a test bench unless the battery is connected to the generator circuit.
- Before checking the generator's performance, make sure that the battery is in good condition and charged.
- When charging the battery directly on the vehicle using a charger, be sure to disconnect the wires from both of its terminals.
- When connecting the battery, pay special attention to the fact that its negative terminal is connected to the ground.
- In all cases, a change in polarity during connection leads to failure of the rectifier diodes of the generator and voltage regulator.
- Before carrying out electric welding work on a vehicle, disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery and the wire from the generator.
