Generator replacement (Opel Insignia A)

Petrol engines



1. Open the hood.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Remove the generator and air conditioning compressor drive belt.

4. Unscrew the nut (2) of the generator wire.

4. Unscrew the nut (2) of the generator wire.


5. Unscrew the nut (1) of the positive generator wire.

6. Loosen the two mounting bolts (2) and remove the generator (1).

6. Loosen the two mounting bolts (2) and remove the generator (1).


7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Diesel engines



1. Open the hood.

2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

3. Remove the accessory drive belt.

4. Remove the insulating covering from the engine compartment.

5. Unscrew the nut (1) and remove the positive generator cable.

5. Unscrew the nut (1) and remove the positive generator cable.


6. Disconnect the generator electrical connector (2).



7. Unscrew the two generator mounting bolts (3).

8. Loosen the generator bracket bolt (4).

9. Remove the generator (5).

10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
