Charging the battery (Opel Frontera B)

            0

Note: The following charging description is a general guide only. Always follow the battery manufacturer's instructions (often printed on a label attached to the battery) when charging it.

When charging a battery installed in a vehicle, disconnect the negative cable from its terminals first, then the positive cable, to avoid damage to electrical components.

The charging current is usually 1/10 of the battery capacity.

In case of fast charging due to lack of time, etc., the charging current should never exceed the battery capacity value indicated in amperes.

The battery is fully charged if:
  • The electrolyte density has reached 1.250-1.290 and remains constant for an hour;
  • The voltage of each battery cell has reached 2.5-2.8 V and remains constant for one hour.

Warnings:
  • Charging near fire sources is not permitted due to the risk of explosion.
  • Do not perform any work during charging that may cause sparks.
  • After charging the battery, close the caps of the jars, rinse the battery from the outside with clean water and wipe dry.
