Warnings:
- When servicing the fuel system, observe the following:
.
- keep a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher at your workplace;
- do not smoke when servicing the fuel system
- The fuel system is under pressure, so to prevent fuel splashing, reduce the pressure in the system before disconnecting the fuel system components with the KM-J-34730-91 leak tester.
Checking the fuel pressure regulator
Connect the fuel system leak tester KM-J-34730-91 to the pressure test nipple (1).

Start the engine, let it idle and bleed the air from the pressure gauge, collecting any leaking fuel in a suitable container.
Check the fuel pressure while operating the engine at different crankshaft speeds.
Remove the fuel system leak tester KM-J-34730-91.
Removal
Remove the air intake tubes.
Disconnect the vacuum hose (1) from the fuel pressure regulator.

Carefully remove the fuel pressure regulator mounting clamp (2) from the fuel rail.
Mark the relative positions of the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel rail, then remove the fuel pressure regulator from the fuel rail, while preventing contamination from entering the fuel system.
