Warnings:
- Before disconnecting the connectors from the engine control unit, turn off the ignition.
- Do not touch the engine control unit connector contacts.
Removal
Remove the center console (1) (see the relevant chapter).
Drill out the shear head bolt (2) securing the anti-theft plate (3) to the engine control unit (4), then unscrew the second bolt and remove the anti-theft plate.
Disconnect the three connectors from the engine control unit.
Remove 4 bolts and remove the control unit from the support frame.
Installation
Install the control unit on the support frame and secure with 4 bolts, tightening them to a torque of 7 Nm.
Connect the three connectors to the engine control unit.
Install the anti-theft plate onto the engine control unit and secure with bolts, tightening them to 8 Nm. Tighten a new shear-head bolt until the head shears off.
Install the center console (see the relevant chapter).
