Engine Air Intake Temperature Sensor (Opel Frontera B)

The engine air temperature sensor is a thermistor whose resistance changes depending on temperature. The engine control unit takes into account the sensor signal and adjusts the pulse width supplied to the injectors, which changes the amount of fuel supplied to the engine cylinders and also changes the ignition timing.

X22SE and Y22SE engines



Removal



Disconnect the connector (1) from the engine air temperature sensor.

Disconnect the connector (1) from the engine air temperature sensor.


Carefully remove the engine air temperature sensor from the air intake tube, being careful not to damage the air intake tube.

Installation



Install the engine air temperature sensor on the air intake pipe.

Connect the connector to the engine air temperature sensor.

Engine 3.2 l (6VD1-W)



Removal



Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Disconnect the connector from the engine air temperature sensor.

Disconnect the connector from the engine air temperature sensor.


Carefully remove the engine air temperature sensor from the air intake tube, being careful not to damage the air intake tube.



Installation



Install the engine air temperature sensor on the air intake pipe.

Connect the connector to the engine air temperature sensor.

Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
