The necessity of performing this operation should be determined during the inspection of the technical condition of the engine control system (see "Engine management system - technical condition check and fault diagnostics").
Warning! Before performing the operation, be sure to read the section "Safety precautions for maintenance and repair of the engine management system".
To complete the work you will need a multimeter and a thermometer.
Examination
Checking the temperature sensor of the air entering the cylinders consists of measuring its resistance at different temperatures and comparing them with the reference values (are given in the table). To check, remove the sensor (see below), connect a multimeter to it in ohmmeter mode and read the device readings. Determine the air temperature using the thermometer. Compare the obtained values with those given in the table. If they do not match, replace the sensor.

Replacement
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the sensor.

3. Using a slotted screwdriver, carefully remove the sensor from the air supply pipe.

4. Install the sensor in reverse order.
