To perform the work, you will need a multimeter, a viewing ditch or overpass.
Warning! Before performing the operation, be sure to read the section «Safety measures for the maintenance and repair of the engine management system».
Examination
1. Remove the knock sensor (see below).
2. We connect a multimeter in ohmmeter mode to terminals 1 and 2 of the sensor pads and, applying light blows to the sensor, monitor the readings of the device. The resistance should change abruptly. If the resistance does not change, the sensor is defective and must be replaced.
Replacement
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Disconnect the sensor wiring harness block (see «Nozzles - check and replacement»).
3. Using a 17 mm key, unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the sensor from the car.
4. Install the knock sensor in reverse order.
