Removing
Attention: Before removing the sensor, drain the coolant into a container, see point 3.2.
Unscrew the alternator mounting bracket and move it to the side.
Disconnect the plug and unscrew the sensor.
Examination
Lower the sensor, tying a wire to it, into a bath of water so that it does not touch the walls. Cool the water with pieces of ice, then heat it on the stove, removing the sensor at certain temperatures and measuring the resistance between the contact tabs, see table.
0°C | 4.8-6.6 kOhm |
20°C | 2.2-6.6 kOhm |
40°C | 1.0-1.4 kOhm |
80°C | 270-380 ohm |
100°C | about 200 ohm |
Installation
Screw in the sensor with a new O-ring.
Attention! Do not overtighten the sensor.
Connect plug.
Add coolant.
Screw on the generator mounting bracket. Pull on the V-belt.
Make a test drive. Check for leakage. Tighten the sensor if necessary.
