Removal and installation the fuel pump (Opel Kadett D)

The fuel pump is located at the rear, under the trunk, on the right, next to the spare wheel well.

Removal



Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

Disconnect the electrical wiring from the pump.

Remove the fuel lines.

To prevent fuel from leaking out, clamp the hoses or plug them with screws of the appropriate size. Remove leaking fuel with rags.

Unscrew the mounting clamp and remove the pump together with the rubber gasket.

Unscrew the mounting clamp and remove the pump together with the rubber gasket.


If the pump is to be removed together with the filter and pressure damper, unscrew the bracket (arrow) and bolt behind the fuel filter. Remove the fuel line running from the filter to the distribution line.

Installation



Install and secure the pump. Pay attention to the correct position of the rubber gasket.

If it was removed, then screw on the pressure damper bracket.

Put on the fuel lines.

Connect the electrical wiring.

Connect the ground wire to the battery.
