Checking and replacing the additional air valve (Opel Kadett D)

Examination

Disconnect the plug from the valve (arrow right, bottom).

Connect a test lamp (12 V/2 W) to the plug contact.

Start the engine.

The lamp should light. Otherwise, check the wiring. Turn off the engine. Turn off the ignition.

Connect an ohmmeter to the valve contacts. The resistance should be 40-75 Ohms. Otherwise, replace the valve.

Insert the plug.

Replacement

Pull out the plug

Loosen and remove the hoses.

Unscrew the two mounting screws and remove the valve.



The rotary pusher can be seen through the valve hole. When cold, it should have a gap, and when hot, it should be tightly closed. To heat the valve, connect it to the battery terminals using additional wires according to the diagram.

Install and secure the valve.

Put on the hoses.

Connect the plug.
