Fuel is drawn from the tank by a pump and fed through a fuel filter into the distribution line and injection valves. The pressure regulator maintains a constant pressure of 2.5 bar in the system. Air sucked in by the engine passes through the air filter and air flow meter. The control unit sets the injection duration and mixture volume according to the amount of metered air and engine speed. The longer the injection valve is open, the more fuel is injected. Additional sensors and probes ensure the exact volume of fuel supplied at extreme temperatures and driving conditions.
The throttle position sensor responds to signals about the extreme positions of the throttle valve. Thus, if the idle speed falls below the set value and the idle position contacts of the extreme position sensor are open, the fuel supply is restored.
The control relay shuts off the fuel supply when the engine stops, regardless of the reason, after 0.15 sec.
The thermal-electrically heated additional air valve stabilizes the engine speed during warm-up.
The control unit is in the straw. behind the right side trim, at the feet. It is not necessary to remove it to check the injection system.
Attention! The terminals on the LE-Jetromc device plug are not marked. When checking, count the terminals starting from 1, it is located on the side of the wire supply. Terminals 1 to 13 are on the extended block, terminals 14 to 25 are on the short one, not used.
Attention! When working with the injection system, observe strict cleanliness. Before disassembling, flush with gasoline. The system is under pressure, so before replacing individual parts, reduce it by removing the fuel line between the pump and the filter. The pressure may drop by itself if the engine is idle for several hours.
Precautionary measures
Do not start the engine with a poorly connected battery.
Do not use a battery quick charger to start the engine.
Never disconnect the battery while the engine is running.
When fast charging, disconnect the battery from the vehicle's electrical system.
Before testing the LE-Jetronik system, you must ensure that the ignition system is in order, i.e. the ignition system and spark plugs must comply with the instructions.
At temperatures above +80°C (dry oven) remove the control device.
Ensure that the devices are securely connected.
