Removal



1. The knock sensor installed on the X16 SZ engine is located on the cylinder block below the intake manifold, between cylinders 2 and 3.

2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

3. Remove the electrical wiring, unscrew the module from the block.

4. The module and control unit are located on the left side of the engine compartment, behind the battery. To remove them, disconnect the multi-pin plug of the electrical wiring, and unscrew the mounting bolts (see illustration).

5. The knock sensor or module cannot be checked without special Opel equipment. Inspect them from the outside for external damage and replace if necessary.

Installation



6. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Correctly connect the electrical wiring and securely fasten the blocks.
