Removal and installation the engine oil temperature sensor (diesel models) (Opel Astra G)

Removal

1. If equipped, remove the crankcase guard.

2. Remove the drain plug and drain the engine oil (see Chapter Routine maintenance).

3. Sensor (if installed) is located in the front part of the engine oil pan, - disconnect the electrical wiring from it.

4. Unscrew the sensor from the pan.

Installation

1. Install a new O-ring and lightly coat the threaded portion of the sensor with locking sealant.

2. Screw the sensor into the pan, - try not to strip the threads.

3. Connect the electrical wiring.

4. Install the crankcase guard.

5. Finally, fill the engine with oil (see Chapter Routine maintenance).
