Petrol models
Models 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 l
The oil level sensor is installed inside the engine crankcase, on the front side.
1. Apply the parking brake, jack up the front of the vehicle and place it on jack stands. If equipped, remove the engine crankcase protection.
2. Drain the engine oil into a clean container, replace the drain plug and tighten it to the required torque (see chapter Current service).
3. Disconnect the wiring from the sensor.
4. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the sensor in gathering with a sealing ring, - the ring is subject to replacement without fail.
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Check for correct wiring. Finally, fill the engine with oil (see chapter Current service).
Models 2.0 l
Sensor (if provided) installed inside the engine oil pan.
1. Remove the bottom section of the pallet (see chapter Engine).
2. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the gauge, - try to remember a route of laying of an electrical wiring. Check the condition of the sealing element and, if necessary, replace it.
3. Before installation, thoroughly clean the threads of the mounting bolts, completely removing all traces of old sealant from them. Apply fresh sealant. Lubricate the sealing element with engine oil.
4. Install the sensor (make sure the wiring is correct) and tighten the bolts of its fastening with the required force. Pass the connector through the pallet - try not to damage the sealing element. Snap the locking latch.
5. Make sure the sensor is seated correctly, then reinstall the lower pan section (see chapter Engine).
Diesel models
Oil level sensor (if installed) installed inside the pallet.
1. Remove the pallet (see chapter Engine).
2. Remove the retaining ring and push the sensor wiring connector into the sump.
3. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the gauge.
4. Install the sensor in its regular place, screw in and tighten the fixing bolts with the required force.
5. Install a new o-ring, seat the electrical wiring connector in the hole in the pan and secure it with a circlip (1).
6. Install the pallet (see chapter Engine).
