Checking the engine oil level (Opel Zafira A)

            0

The oil level is checked on a level surface, and not earlier than 10 minutes after the engine has been stopped. The operation is shown using the example of a 1.6 DOHC engine; on other engines the operation is performed similarly.

If the oil level is below the norm, oil must be added. The entire area with the indicator marks corresponds to the oil volume of one liter.

Warning! Top up with oil of the same grade and viscosity and, if possible, the same brand as the oil in the engine lubrication system (see "Reference data"). Oils of different brands, classes and viscosities are often incompatible. Incompatibility of the filled oils can lead to serious engine repairs. Exceeding the oil level (above the MAX mark on the oil level indicator) may cause it to leak through seals, gaskets and the crankcase ventilation system, as well as damage to the catalytic converter of exhaust gases.

Note: For more accurate readings, it is necessary to pause for about 1 minute between adding oil and removing the indicator, so that the added oil has time to drain into the engine oil pan.
