To check the oil level, remove the oil level gauge from the guide tube...
...wipe it with a clean cloth and insert it back into the guide tube.
Then remove the oil level indicator again. The oil level should be approximately in the middle of the zone marked on the pointer.
If the oil level is below normal, the oil must be topped up. The entire zone with pointer marks corresponds to an oil volume of one liter.
Warning! Add oil of the same grade and viscosity, and if possible the same brand, as the oil filled into the engine lubrication system (see «Reference data»). Oils of different brands, classes and viscosities are very often incompatible. The incompatibility of the filled oils can lead to serious engine repairs. Exceeding the oil level (above the MAX mark on the oil level indicator) can lead to leakage through seals, gaskets and the crankcase ventilation system, as well as damage to the catalytic converter.
To add oil, open the oil filler cap by turning it counterclockwise...
... add oil to the oil filler neck, checking the level on the pointer.
Comment. For more accurate readings, it is necessary to pause for about 1 minute between adding oil and removing the pointer, so that the filled oil has time to drain into the engine crankcase.
