Checking the level of working fluid in the automatic transmission (Opel Zafira A)

The working fluid level is checked on a level surface with the engine running and the selector in the P position.

To check the level of the working fluid, it is necessary to lift the indicator lock upwards...



...and remove the working fluid level indicator from the guide tube.



Wipe it with a clean cloth and insert it back into the guide tube. Then remove the pointer again.

The indicator has marks on different sides to check the level at different temperatures of the working fluid in the gearbox. If the gearbox is not warmed up (the car was parked for a long time and the engine only ran for a few minutes), the liquid level should be approximately in the middle between the marks on the side of the indicator where there are MIN +20°C marks.





If the gearbox is warmed up (the car drove 10-15 km before the check), the level should be approximately in the middle between the marks on the side of the indicator where there are marks MAX +80°C.



If the level is below the norm, it is necessary to top up. You should top up with a special fluid intended for automatic transmissions (see "Reference data") through a funnel.
