1. Park the car on a flat, horizontal surface with a hard surface, firmly apply the parking brake. If the engine is cold, start it and warm it up at idle speed.
2. With the engine running, depress the foot brake pedal and move the AT selector lever through all positions in turn, finally returning it to the "P" position. Turn off the engine and raise the car on a lift.
3. Remove the top engine cover; on diesel models, remove the crankcase guard.
4. Remove the drain plug (see accompanying illustration) AT and drain some liquid into a pre-prepared container.

Note: When replacing the working fluid, the oil is drained completely. Collect the fluid in a glass container, such as a glass, and check it for color, impurities, and the presence of a burning smell.
5. If the fluid is red, not cloudy and does not contain any particles, continue checking the condition of the transmission using special devices and testers according to the instructions for their use.
6. If the working fluid has changed color to brown or black, has become cloudy or has a burning smell, the authors of this Manual recommend disassembling the transmission to check the condition of the clutch and brake friction. The work should be entrusted to service station specialists.
7. If there are a large number of metal particles in the fluid, it is recommended to remove the transmission and install a new one or one that has undergone major repairs on the vehicle.
8. Once you have completed checking the fluid and transmission conditions, lower the vehicle onto its wheels.
Attention: When filling the AT with oil and checking the ATF level, it is very important that the car is in a strictly horizontal position!
9. Check the working fluid level and make the appropriate adjustments if necessary, and when replacing, fill in approximately 3-3.5 liters of fresh fluid (see Chapter 1).
Note: When changing the oil, it is necessary to install a new drain plug with a new seal.

10. Perform the operations specified in paragraphs 1-2.
11. To drain the oil on these models, you need to unscrew the drain plug (see Chapter 1, Section 4).
Note: The entire plug must be removed, not the control bolt.
Collect the leaking liquid in a previously prepared container. From the total volume (8 l), approximately 3.5-4.0 l of liquid is drained.
12. Screw the drain plug back into place with a new seal.
13. Prepare 4 liters of fresh liquid (see Specifications to Chapter 1) and add Opel-93160537 additives to the liquid - 8 portions. Each portion is a special factory-made syringe.
14. First pour in about 3 liters of the prepared mixture, then check the oil level and make the appropriate adjustments (see Chapter 1).
