1. Make sure the vehicle is on level ground. Check the oil level no earlier than 5 minutes after the engine has been turned off.
2. The dipstick is on the forward side of the engine. Remove the dipstick and use a clean rag to wipe off the oil (see illustration). Insert the probe into the tube as far as possible, then remove it again.
3. The oil level at the end of the dipstick should be between the top (MAX) and lower (MIN) labels (see illustration). 4 Oil is added through the filler neck. Use a funnel to avoid spillage. Add oil slowly, do not overfill (see illustration).
