Warning: Do not open the expansion tank cap when the engine is hot.
1. Check the coolant level. The level must be between the MAX mark (NOT) and label MIN (COLD) on the side of the expansion tank. If the level is below the MIN·mark, proceed as follows.
2. Place a thick cloth on the expansion tank cap and slowly turn it counterclockwise. Depressurize the system, then rotate the cap further and remove it.
3. Bring the fluid level to the MAX mark by adding the correct type and concentration of antifreeze mixture (see illustration). In extreme cases, water may be used. Do not add cold water to an overheated engine.
4. Establish a cover of a broad tank. If frequent refueling is required, check the system for leaks.
