Maintenance Procedures (Diesel Engines) (Opel Omega A)

Every 400 km or weekly


  • Check the engine oil level and top it up to normal (Chapter 2)
  • Check the coolant level and top it up to normal (Chapter 3)
  • Check the battery electrolyte level (Section 5A)
  • Rate the quality of the exhaust (Chapter 4)
  • Check the operation of the glow plug indicator lamp (Chapter 5)


Every 7500 km or after 12 months


  • Replace engine oil and oil filter (Chapter 6)


Every 15,000 km or 12 months


  • Check the engine and transmission for leaks (Chapter 15)
  • Drain the water from the fuel filter (Chapter 7)
  • Replace the air filter element (Chapter 12)
  • Check the idle speed (Chapter 10)
  • Check the maximum engine speed (Chapter 17)
  • Rate the quality of the exhaust (Chapter 4)
  • Check the condition and tension of the auxiliary drive belts (Chapter 13)


Every 30,000 km or after 2 years


  • Replace the fuel filter (Chapter 11)
  • Replace coolant - every 2 years, regardless of mileage (Chapter 23)


Every 60,000 km or after 4 years


  • Replace the glow plugs (Chapter 22)
