Removal



1.6L SOHC and 2.0L DOHC engines



1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Disconnect the electrical wiring and high-voltage wires from the ignition module. The module terminals and harness wires are numbered, which eliminates the possibility of incorrect connection during installation.

3. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the ignition module from the cylinder head.

Engines 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 l DOHC



1. Loosen the mounting bolts, remove the oil filler cap and engine protective cover.

2. The module is installed on top of the head, between the intake and exhaust camshafts - disconnect the electrical wiring from the left side of the module.

3. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the module, - on 1.4 and 1.6 l engines the left mounting bolt is also used to secure the interference suppressor. If the module is "stuck" and cannot be removed, screw a pair of M8 bolts into its upper holes and separate the assembly from the spark plugs by pulling them with pliers by their heads.

3. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the module, - on 1.4 and 1.6 l engines the left mounting…


Installation



Installation is carried out in reverse order.

1. Make sure all fasteners are tightened to the required torque.

2. On 1.6L SOHC and 2.0L DOHC engines connect the electrical wiring to your terminals on the BB module in accordance with the numbering.

3. Connect the electrical wiring to the module.

4. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
