Removal
1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Remove the engine protection by unscrewing six bolts 1 (figure 2.78).
3. Disconnect the wiring connector 1 from the knock sensor 2 (figure 2.84).

4. Unscrew the knock sensor 1 from the cylinder block (figure 2.85).
Installation
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. The tightening torque of the knock sensor is 20 Nm.

Battery charging system
The F4R 720 engine can be equipped with the following generators: Valeo SG 9 (100 A) or Valeo SG B 12 (125 A).
