Accelerator pedal for a car with a 3.2L engine (6VD1-W) (Opel Frontera B)

Removal



Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal lever.

Disconnect the connector from the automatic transmission downshift switch.

Remove 2 bolts and accelerator pedal.

Remove 2 bolts and accelerator pedal.


Installation



Install the accelerator pedal on the engine compartment bulkhead and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 10 N·m.

Connect the accelerator cable to the accelerator pedal lever.

Adjustment



Car with manual transmission



Loosen the lock nut of the stop bolt, remove the stop bolt, fully depress the brake pedal and screw in the stop bolt until it touches the stopper on the pedal bracket, then tighten the lock nut.

Car with automatic transmission



Loosen the automatic transmission downshift switch lock nut, remove the switch, fully depress the brake pedal and screw the switch in until it touches the stopper on the pedal bracket, then turn the switch half a turn further and tighten the lock nut.

Check that a clicking sound is heard from the switch when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed, then connect the connector to the automatic transmission downshift switch.
