Removal and installation the accelerator pedal (Opel Corsa B)

Petrol models



1. In the car's interior, in order to gain access to the pedal assembly, loosen the fastener and remove the left (driver's license) the lower section of the instrument panel trim.

2. Release the throttle cable end from the accelerator pedal.

3. Loosen the three mounting nuts and remove the pedal assembly from the engine compartment bulkhead

4. Check the pedal assembly components for signs of wear and mechanical damage, replace any damaged parts. To disassemble the pedal assembly, unhook the spring, slide the retainer and remove the pedal, support bracket, return spring and axle bushings - lubricate the bushings and pedal axle with universal grease before installation.

5. Install the bushings and return spring on the bracket, thread it through the spring, and install the pedal. Secure the pedal with a clamp and hook the spring to it.

6. Install the pedal assembly in its original place and tighten the mounting nuts to the required force.

7. Connect the gas cable to the pedal, check the secure fit of the bushing, then install the instrument panel trim section in place.



8. Finally, adjust the throttle cable (see section Replacing and adjusting the throttle cable).

Diesel models



1. In the car's interior, in order to gain access to the pedal assembly, loosen the fastener and remove the left (driver's license) the lower section of the instrument panel trim.

3. Slide the locking element on the connector to disconnect the electrical wiring from the accelerator pedal position sensor.

4. At the time of writing this Manual, the pedal assembly was manufactured as a non-disassemblable unit. In the event of a pedal failure, the unit must be replaced as an assembly.

5. Install the pedal assembly and tighten its mounting nuts to the required torque.

6. Connect the wiring to the pedal position sensor and reinstall the lower instrument panel trim section.
