Fuel pump and fuel level sensor unit (Opel Frontera B)

Warning! When removing the fuel pump and fuel level sensor unit, it is recommended to pump out the fuel from the fuel tank, otherwise the fuel will leak out. To do this, the fuel should be pumped out through the filler neck using a special pump.

Removal

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Remove the fuel tank (see the relevant chapter).

Remove the clamps and disconnect the 2 fuel lines from the fuel pump and fuel level sensor block cover.

Using the special tool KM-6423 (2), unscrew the nut (1).



Remove the fuel pump and fuel level sensor unit (1) from the fuel tank, remove the sealing ring (2) and discard it.

Installation

Install the fuel pump and fuel level sensor unit (1) with a new sealing ring into the fuel tank.

Using the special tool KM-6423 (2), tighten the nut (1) securing the fuel pump unit and fuel level sensor.

Warnings: When tightening the cover fastening nut, avoid turning the fuel pump and fuel level sensor unit.

Connect the 2 fuel lines to the fuel pump and fuel level sensor unit cover and secure them with clamps.

Install the fuel tank (see the relevant chapter).

Connect the wires to the negative terminal of the battery.
