Accelerator cable for a car with a 3.2L engine (6VD1-W) (Opel Frontera B)

Removal



Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Remove the engine cover.

Loosen the lock nut securing the accelerator cable housing to the bracket (arrow) and remove the accelerator cable from the bracket located on the expansion air chamber.

Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle valve sector.

Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal lever.

Remove the accelerator cable seal from the engine compartment bulkhead.

Pull the accelerator cable out of the engine compartment bulkhead.

Installation



The accelerator cable is installed in the reverse order of removal.

Adjust the position of the accelerator cable.

Adjustment



Install the accelerator cable housing into the bracket located on the expansion chamber.

Loosen the adjusting nut (3) and lock nut (2).

Loosen the adjusting nut (3) and lock nut (2).


Pull the accelerator cable housing until the throttle valve is completely closed.



In this position of the accelerator cable housing, temporarily tighten the adjusting nut (3) and lock nut (2).

Loosen the adjusting nut (3) 3 turns (1) and tighten the lock nut (2).

Manually rotate the throttle valve and ensure that the throttle sector returns to the stop. Otherwise, repeat the adjustment of the accelerator cable position.
