Exhaust Gas Recirculation System Valve (Opel Frontera B)

Cars with 2.2L petrol engines (X 22 SE and Y 22 SE)



Removal



Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Disconnect the connector from the engine air temperature sensor located on the air intake tube.

Loosen the nuts, remove the clamps and disconnect the air intake tube from the intake manifold and air filter.

Disconnect the connector (1) from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.

Disconnect the connector (1) from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.


Loosen the bolts and remove the exhaust gas recirculation system valve (2).

Installation



Install the EGR valve with a new gasket and secure with bolts.

Connect the connector to the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.

Connect the air intake tube to the intake manifold and air cleaner and secure with clamps and nuts.

Connect the connector to the engine air temperature sensor.

Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.

Cars with petrol engines 6VD1-W



Removal



Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Disconnect the connector from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.

Disconnect the connector from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.


Unscrew the 3 bolts and remove the exhaust re-combustion valve.



Installation



Install the EGR valve with a new gasket and secure with bolts.

Connect the connector to the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.

Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
