Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve — Replacement (Opel Zafira A)

The necessity of performing this operation should be determined during the inspection of the technical condition of the engine control system (see "Engine management system - technical condition check and fault diagnostics").

Warning! Before performing the operation, be sure to read the section "Safety precautions for maintenance and repair of the engine management system".

Note: Each time the EGR valve is removed, the EGR valve gasket must be replaced with a new one.

The work is shown on a 1.6 DOHC engine, on other engines it is performed similarly.

Sequence of execution

1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Remove the decorative engine cover (see "Engine trim panel - removal and installation").

3. Using a slotted screwdriver, pry up the wiring harness connector retainer and remove it.



4. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the recirculation system valve.



5. Using a TORX T45 key, unscrew the two valve mounting bolts.

6. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve.



7. Remove the valve gasket.



8. Install the parts in reverse order.
