Warning! Before performing the operation, be sure to read the section «Safety measures for the maintenance and repair of the engine management system».
Recommendation. It is recommended to remove the fuel tank after the maximum amount of fuel has been exhausted from it.
To perform the work, an inspection ditch or overpass is required. Work should be done with an assistant.
Execution sequence
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. We press the latch and disconnect the fuel module wiring harness connector located on the bottom of the car, next to the fuel tank.
3. Remove the suspension cushions of the exhaust system (see «Pillows of a suspension bracket of elements of system of release of the fulfilled gases — replacement»). And we lower the system onto the rear suspension beam.
4. We install a reliable support under the tank.
5. Squeeze the clamps and disconnect the fuel line.
6. Similarly, we disconnect the pipeline for supplying fuel vapor from the fuel tank to the adsorber.
7. Disconnect the parking brake cables from the fuel tank brackets (see «Parking brake cables - replacement»).
8. With a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the bolt of the rear left fastening of the fuel tank.
9. With the same key, we turn out the middle and right bolts of the rear mounting of the fuel tank.
10. Similarly, we unscrew the front left bolt of the fuel tank...
...and the front right bolt.
11. Slightly lower the fuel tank on the support.
12. Loosen the clamp of the fuel tank filler pipe.
13. Remove the pipe from the fitting.
14. Remove the air outlet tube clamp and disconnect the tube from the fuel tank.
15. Similarly, remove the clamp for fastening the air outlet tube located on top of the fuel tank and remove the tube from the fitting.
16. Remove the fuel tank assembly with the fuel filter and fuel module.
17. If necessary, remove the fuel filter (see «Fuel filter - replacement») and fuel module (see «Fuel pump - check and replace»).
18. Install the parts in reverse order.
